Mahalo Fukuoka!

Aloha kākou!

I had a festive time in Japan celebrating the 30 years of sister-cityship between Hawaiʻi and Fukuoka. Our shows, directed by Kumu Hula OBrien Eselu turned out to be very festive. He sure has the vocal stamina to direct, rehearse, run the show, chant and sing and still sound nahenahe after that! Mahalo to our band mates Kekoa Pimental, Alden Levi and Kenneth Makuakāne.

I enjoyed Hakata ramen with lots of garlic..I think that ramen is my favorite now…rich broth, skinny noodles and bursting with flavors…mahalo to the ramen connoisseur Kekoa Pimental. Go with the pros…they know where to eat!
